Book Fair
Posted August 26, 2022
Every year, the KKPS Library is pleased to host the Scholastic Book Fair. While providing access to affordable books and school supplies for purchase, the Book Fair is also an important fundraiser for the school library. This year, we had $7872 in sales over three days. Of this, we’ll receive a 35% commission in the form of new books for our school library. With this year’s sales, that means we’re anticipating over $2700 worth of new books through Scholastic to expand our school library collection this year! This is a huge success for our school library, and we’re very grateful to our POTS volunteers and student librarians who were vital in running this year’s sale.
To help ignite imaginations and generate excitement around books and reading, we also encouraged classes to create masks in class this Book Week, and there were some fabulous masks created. These were worn during the school assemblies on Friday August 26th. Among the Y3-4 classes, Room 12 won the best masks competition, while among the Y5-6 students, the winner was Room 27. We also awarded spot prizes to 15 students this year.
