Rooms 3 and 13 Clean up of the Uretara River

Like much of the Junior school at KKPS Rooms 3 & 13 have been learning about how we connect to the ocean during Sea Week ( Toi moana-toi tangata). Knowing that all drains lead to the sea and the devastating impact rubbish, particularly plastic has on our oceans and marine life Rooms 3 and 13 decided it was time for action!

With the help of our parents we walked to the Uretara landing and picked up masses of rubbish destined for our awa and moana. All the children felt very proud to be able to make a small difference to our local community.
